A personal selection of art

The KloppArt collection brings together original works selected for their artistic quality, character and enduring appeal. The collection has a particular expertise in 20th-century art, original lithographs, pochoirs and works on paper, alongside an evolving selection of paintings and other works.

Artists represented include Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Kees van Dongen, Marc Chagall and Marcel Mouly.

Every work is personally selected by Nicolien, with attention to artistic significance, condition, provenance, colour, scale and, of course, the feeling it creates in a space.

The online selection is only a glimpse of the wider collection. Viewings are available by appointment at the Amsterdam gallery.

The art of Lithography

Lithography is one of the most fascinating forms of printmaking. The artist works directly within the printing process, often in close collaboration with a master printer, creating an image that can be transferred onto paper in a limited number of original impressions. For artists such as Matisse, Picasso and Braque, this became another way of thinking, experimenting and creating. Many of the works in the KloppArt collection were created at the renowned Parisian Atelier Mourlot in Paris. The relationship between artist, process and printer is what makes 20th-century lithography such a rich field to discover and collect.
