An eye for art, a personal approach
KloppArt was founded by Nicolien Kloppert from a deep fascination with art and a love for the moment when a particular work simply feels right. For me, that is the moment a space becomes somewhere you simply don't want to leave. What began with a personal collection of 20th-century lithographs grew into something more: a practice built around discovering, selecting and connecting people with art they genuinely respond to.
Today, KloppArt is an independent art advisory and curatorial practice working with private clients, collectors, interiors and larger projects. From a first artwork to an evolving collection or a complete art project, the approach is always personal, considered and curious.
At the heart of it all is Nicolien's eye: an instinct for works with character, a fascination with the stories behind them, and an understanding of how art can transform the way a space feels.
The aim is simple: to find art that makes you look twice. And smile.

From collection to advisory
KloppArt grew from a personal collection that became increasingly difficult to keep to myself. Friends would visit, ask about the works on the walls and want to know more. Some became curious about collecting themselves. Others simply wanted help finding something special for their own home. What started as a collection became a way of helping others discover art and eventually, a broader advisory practice.
Today, the KloppArt collection brings together original works personally selected for their artistic quality, character and presence. It remains an important part of what we do, and a natural starting point for many of our clients.
But when a particular artist, work, size or feeling is called for, the search can extend beyond the collection. Through a trusted network of galleries, dealers, collectors and specialists, KloppArt sources and curates art for private collections, interiors and larger projects.
From one work to an entire art project, the approach remains the same: start with the person, find the art, and make it feel like it belongs.
Where it all started
My particular fascination began with 20th-century art and, in particular, the world of original lithography. I became captivated by the artists, the stories behind the works and the craftsmanship involved in bringing an image from the artist's hand to paper.
The relationship between artist and printer, the layers of colour, the imperfections and character of the printing process, all of it made me want to look closer. Atelier Mourlot in Paris became a particular source of fascination, as did the artists who worked there, including Matisse, Picasso, Braque and Chagall.
Over time, this developed into a deep knowledge of lithography and a personal collection built around works that I genuinely believe deserve to be lived with. That expertise remains an important part of KloppArt today, a foundation for the way I look at art, rather than a limitation on what I look for.
